Managed IT for the City of Atlanta

Managed IT built for in-town Atlanta offices

Help desk, security, Microsoft 365 and backups for firms of 10 to 150 people in Midtown, Downtown, West Midtown and neighborhoods across the city. A single team owns the whole picture, billed as one flat monthly amount.

  • Support staff who have your network notes open
  • Laptops and servers watched and updated 24/7
  • Security and backups proven, not presumed
  • On-site help in high-rises, lofts and storefronts

Start with an IT review

Give us your headcount, your neighborhood and the thing about IT that bugs you most. We'll explain what we would tackle first.

No obligation. A senior engineer replies within one business day.

What slows Atlanta firms down

Most firms that reach out to us are growing. Their technology simply stayed put while the staff, the office and the client roster got bigger.

The building runs your internet

Your suite has one carrier because that's what the landlord wired in. When it drops, the whole office waits, and adding a backup line means a month of work orders.

Half the team isn't in the office

People work from home, from MARTA, from client sites. Files live in email attachments and personal Dropbox accounts, and nobody is sure who can see what.

Payment fraud keeps getting closer

A vendor's 'new bank details' email almost got paid last quarter. You've heard about local firms that lost a wire, and you'd like to know your own controls are real.

Support is slow or far away

Your provider takes days to answer, never comes on site, or sends a different technician every time who has to learn your network from scratch.

IT inside the city

What doing business in Atlanta means for your technology

The Census Bureau estimates the City of Atlanta at 520,070 residents as of July 2024, but that number undersells a working day here. Office towers along Peachtree Street fill with people who commute in from a dozen counties, and a big show at the Georgia World Congress Center can bring tens of thousands of visitors downtown in a single week. For a company with 15 or 80 employees, that density shapes almost every technology decision, from the network closet in your suite to how your team keeps working when the Downtown Connector is at a standstill.

Each district works differently

Downtown's two main ZIP codes, 30303 and 30313, hold about 1,760 businesses with a payroll, per 2023 ZIP-level counts from the Census Bureau. Law offices are the biggest professional group, with 175 in 30303 alone, a short walk from the courthouses, City Hall and the State Capitol. Nonprofits, associations and hotels fill out the rest. Midtown's 30308 and 30309 are about twice that size, with roughly 3,480 establishments, including more than 400 medical, dental and outpatient practices, over 300 law offices and a cluster of software and research companies around Technology Square beside Georgia Tech. West of the Connector, ZIP 30318 covers West Midtown and much of the Westside. It has about 2,260 establishments, among them 51 film, video and post-production businesses, more than Downtown and Midtown combined.

Those groups want different things from IT. A Tech Square startup wants a laptop shipped to each new hire with every app behind one sign-in. A Downtown litigation firm needs document management and court e-filing working at 8 a.m. sharp. An editing shop in a converted Westside warehouse moves footage measured in terabytes. A nonprofit wants strong security on a lean budget, often with grant or donor rules about how data is kept.

Renting a floor in someone else's tower

Plenty of Atlanta firms lease a suite on the 14th floor of a building they don't control. Property management owns the risers and the telecom room and decides which carriers are already wired in. Your firewall may share a closet with three other tenants' gear. Adding a second internet provider means a work order, a certificate of insurance and often a building engineer escorting the installer. We start those conversations early, because a suite move can sit for weeks waiting on a carrier.

Old buildings, new jobs

A lot of offices here sit in buildings designed for something else. Ponce City Market in Old Fourth Ward was a Sears distribution center. Atlantic Station was built on the old Atlantic Steel mill site. Castleberry Hill and the Westside are full of brick industrial shells now used as studios and creative offices. Masonry walls swallow Wi-Fi. Older circuits trip when a space heater lands beside the network rack. Cable may have been pulled by three different tenants over twenty years with no labels. A site survey before you sign a lease, or before you add ten more desks, saves real money.

When the city itself has a bad week

Atlanta businesses learned the value of remote work before 2020. A fire under I-85 near Piedmont Road in March 2017 brought down an overpass and scrambled commutes for about six weeks. In late May and early June 2024, two water main breaks, one in Vine City and one at West Peachtree and 11th Street, put much of the city under a boil-water advisory and closed many Midtown businesses for days. MARTA rail helps, with stations at Five Points, Peachtree Center, North Avenue, Midtown and Arts Center, but the safer plan is a team whose laptops, files and phones work from anywhere. That is where we spend most of our effort.

The options

How Atlanta businesses tend to handle IT

Most clients tried one of the first two approaches before they called us. Both work until the company outgrows them.

How it works

Four steps to fully supported

For a 10 to 75 person office, getting fully onboarded typically takes three to six weeks, depending on what needs cleaning up first.

Review

We walk your suite, check the network closet and carrier setup, and look at devices, Microsoft 365 and backups with the people who use them.

Propose

We hand you the problems we found, ordered by how much they matter, plus a flat monthly quote and a start date that steers clear of your crunch periods.

Transition

Admin logins and records move over to us, monitoring agents go onto every machine, the worst issues get fixed and staff learn how to reach us.

Run

From then on it's everyday help requests, updates, security watch and backup verification, plus a sit-down each quarter on progress and plans.

Where we work

Across the city, from Downtown to the Westside

Our engineers come in from Alpharetta on GA-400 and I-75/85. Midtown, Downtown and Old Fourth Ward are reached via the Connector, West Midtown and the Westside via Northside Drive and Howell Mill Road, and Atlantic Station via 17th Street. The bulk of tickets are worked remotely. Site visits are booked with building access arranged ahead of time, and Buckhead clients get the same team.

Questions

Questions Atlanta business owners ask first

Do you have an office in Atlanta?

No. Our only office is in Alpharetta, about a 30-minute drive up GA-400 outside rush hour. Engineers come into the city for scheduled and urgent visits, and the bulk of requests get fixed over a remote session.

Can you work in a high-rise with building rules?

Yes. We handle badge requests, certificates of insurance, loading dock times and after-hours access with your property manager so on-site work happens when it's scheduled.

What size companies do you support?

Typically firms with somewhere between 10 and 150 people. A five-person law practice or medical office handling confidential records can make sense for us too.

How is the monthly price set?

Once the review is done, we price the work per month from your headcount, your equipment and which of the four services you want. Routine requests carry no extra charge.
